ABOUT US

Facilities

The Portage & District Arts Centre, housed within the William Glesby Centre, is comprised of a Gallery, Gift Shop, Dance Studio, Pottery Studio, Classroom, Boardroom and Art Library.

The Gallery

Our gallery features a new exhibit or installation every few months, and showcases works from Manitoba and across the country.  We have 200 running feet of wall space and approximately 1700 square feet of floor space.

Classrooms & Workspaces

A large classroom is available for classes and workshops. It is also used every Wednesday afternoon as a studio for artists to work independently in the company of other artists. The pottery studio is equipped with 8 pottery wheels and an electric kiln. Our dance studio has wooden spring flooring and dedicated washrooms.

Art Library

Members of the Arts Centre can enjoy the many interesting books housed in our library. We offer a space to come in and peruse the collection or books may be borrowed.

Gift Shop

Give a gift of original art...Our gift shop carries a selection of arts supplies, as well as giftware by local and regional artists.  We partner with Artist's Emporium in Winnipeg, offering the same prices without the cost of traveling there...and we offer a 10% discount to members.  Gift Certificates are available for any occasion at the Portage & District Arts Centre Gift Shop.
