NEW Fall Programming 2014

NEW Calling All Visual Artists

The Manitoba Arts Network and Tiger Hills Arts Association present the 2014/15 edition of the Rural Art Mentorship Program (RAMP) in the Central Region of Manitoba, November 2014 to March 2015 with Mentor Barb Flemington.

This is an exciting opportunity for emerging rural artists to work with a professional artist to help develop their work to the next level. The Manitoba Arts Network is eager to connect and promote the thriving rural communities in Manitoba, and they are excited to hear from artists who are motivated to enrich their practice and expand their artistic network. The Manitoba Arts Network has partnered with Winnipeg-based Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art (www.mawa.ca) to deliver the program made possible thanks to support from the Manitoba Arts Council.

They are thrilled to announce their mentor will be Barb Flemington, a visual artist, educator and advocate who has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. She has been an art educator at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba and an instructor at Brandon University. Barb has lived in rural Manitoba and has experienced the isolation rural artists can face, and will share the development of her own professional art practice.
